Making Treasure From Trash- DIY GLASS MOSAICS!!
The other day, I accidentally dropped a few super pretty dishes that I had found while thrifting at Salvi‘s….I was quite sad, because one of them was a Rae Dunn mug that was so cute that I got for only one dollar.
Also, I was angry with myself, because I was rushing. One of my spiritual practices that I have been working on since the pandemic is learning not to rush. Rush and hurry are two of my overworking practices that are unhealthy and almost always cause me to have accidents. So I have been working on trying to move slowly through the day — with more mindfulness and intention. I dropped these items because I was rushing…..I used to rush because I needed to rush — I was trying to cram 9 million things into a day. It has become a habit that I have learned. Now that I no longer need to cram so many things into a day, I still find myself falling into rushing. I am working on this because I want my day to be slow and steady.
I decided to save the broken pieces — because who knew maybe I could use them for something……Then, later that afternoon, I found this really cool frame by the side of the road. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with it either but thought it would be useful for something so I picked it up…. Now I am learning how to do glass mosaics using found objects and old picture frames❤️❤️❤️ One person‘s trash is another person‘s treasure😍🌸🙌🙌
This is keeping me sane right now…..
While the world around me is seeming to be shattering into pieces, I am taking shattered glass and turning it into something beautiful.
